2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/3 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 cups of rolled oats
2 cups of sweetened flaked or shredded coconut

Mix the sugar cocoa margarine and milk together in a medium sized pot or cast iron fry pan.  Cook on medium heat and bring it to a boil stirring frequently.  Reduce heat and simmer gently for 2-3 minutes or soft ball stage.  Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.  Stir in oats and coconut. Mix well.  Drop quickly by spoonfuls onto wax paper or tin foil.  They will harden.  Makes about 3 dozen.
