Diego was flying from Miami to Minneapolis, where Mary was driving after he last class in Moorhead. she dropped off a friend outside of Minneapolis, and picked up Diego. Melinda and Earl had been flying since the night before. They landed in Toronto where mechanical problems with the plane forced them to wait most of the day.
